Many people think of Auschwitz when they think of Poland. It is true, Auschwitz is most certainly one of the most important things to do if you visit Poland.
But there is so much more too. Krakow itself was not what we expected. Structurally it was largely unaffected by the war – mostly as the Germans who first invaded the city fell in love with it. Anyone visiting the city today will see why too. Clean cobble-stoned streets, an imposing fortified castle perched at its highest point, and the happening Jewish quarter.
