Visiting Ecuador surprised us in so many good ways. We visited jaw-dropping waterfalls, conquered our fear of heights on a death-defying tree swing in Banos, grew oddly fond of the unfashionable town of Guayaquil and ticked off a bucket-list item when we visited the Amazon rain forest in a funky eco-lodge.

The Galapagos National Park is still on our list of things to do in Ecuador which is reason enough for us to plan a trip back to South America ASAP.
