We recently came back from watching a football match in London and happened to stumble on a hidden gem of a hotel! If you don’t want to keep reading the whole article to find out which hotel this was, I’ll just tell you straight up, it was Hilton Angel Islington.
What we did not realise, and something you might be interested in, is that the Arsenal Players actually stay here as it is so close to Emirates Stadium! So, if you want a chance of an autograph with them – this is it!

We really love Hilton Hotels. We love their consistent offering and that you rarely (and I want to even say never) are disappointed when you stay at one!
There are quite a few Hilton Hotels in London but why we were initially drawn to stay at this particular one, aside from the location, due to the easy and convenient parking onsite.
You do however need to pay for it (which is pretty much the case for any central hotel in London with parking) but we thought the nightly parking fee was reasonable at 25 pounds a night. The parking was also right onsite so we did not have far at all to pull our big bags into the hotel. Big tick there!
The hotel is also in a really nice and trendy area of London with lots of really nice restaurants and pubs nearby. The Thai restaurant across the road called Thai Square was so delicious that we ate there twice during our 3 night stay.
I could not also say enough about the staff at this hotel – they were just fabulous. When we arrived, we got upgraded from a regular room to a floor with executive suite access as well as a buffet breakfast in the morning.
Executive lounge
If you don’t want to risk not being upgraded, I would say that paying for the executive access was worthwhile. The executive lounge provided free light meals from 6-8pm in the evening as well as beers and wines. Throughout the rest of the day light snacks, tea, coffee, soft drinks and juice were provided.
The buffet breakfast in the morning was also a really high quality with a full English breakfast on offer as well as continental options like croissants, fruit and yogurt. Everything on the buffet was of a high quality. I couldn’t fault it honestly.

Note: Arsenal stays at this hotel so if you want a chance to meet/see them, this is the place to be. They had breakfast after us during our stay. Some fans were waiting outside for autographs from them. One of the best hotels near Arsenal Stadium for sure.

- Parking was paid, 25 pounds a night (would be nice to be free!)
- There was some minor rust on the standard bathroom at the Hilton (see photo above). Executive room did not have this.
