Malaysia Travel Blog: 5 Photos to Inspire You + Best places to visit
We unexpectedly fell head over heels in love with Malaysia.
It has everything – delicious food inspired from Indian and Chinese backgrounds, Instagrammable destinations like the Cameron Highlands, quality hotels and lovely people.
Kuala Lumpur is the capital and is a popular stopover destination. If you have only a few days in KL we recommend you catch Batu Caves, Thean Hou Temple, KL Forest Eco Park and the many beautiful temples (check out our Instagram to see what we mean)!
Melaka (formerly Malacca) is a former Portuguese colony town and it still retains this charm today. It has colourful buildings, funky neon rickshaws and yummy chicken balls. This gorgeous town is worth the easy 2 hour bus or car ride from KL.
The Cameron Highlands was the highlight of our trip. The temperature here is far cooler than the rest of Malaysia which allows a reprieve from the usual heat. The sprawling green tea fields are breathtaking. Don’t miss the opportunity to enjoy an afternoon tea with fresh strawberries, scones and cream. Yum!
Foodies will love Penang – the food centre of Malaysia which is renowned across Asia and the world. When you tear yourself away from the delicious food on offer check out the street art which is a feature of most Malaysian Instagram pages.
Malaysian Hotels
We used booking.com with a good rate of success on finding quality, clean hotels which isn't always easy in Malaysia.
Don’t miss the Cameron Highlands Hotel which we review in full.
